In November 2023, Nashville’s Continuum of Care General Membership elected to designate the Metropolitan Office of Homeless Services (OHS) as the CoC Collaborative Applicant. Please click here for related OHS updates.
Before the transition, the Metropolitan Development and Housing Agency (MDHA) led the Point-in-Time Count for Nashville. Teams assembled and dispersed throughout Davidson County to count the number of literally homeless individuals.
The Housing Inventory Count (HIC) is conducted on the same evening, and collects a point-in-time inventory of provider programs that provide beds and units dedicated to serve persons who are homeless, categorized by five Program Types: Emergency Shelter; Transitional Housing; Rapid Re-housing; Safe Haven; and Permanent Supportive Housing.
HUD’s Continuum of Care (CoC) Homeless Assistance Programs Dashboard Reports show CoC geographic areas and geographic coverage changes from the previous program year and include information on each CoC’s awards by award amount, project component type, and project application type. The reports also contain summary data from the Point-in-Time (PIT) count and Housing Inventory Count (HIC), which provide an overview of a CoC’s performance in serving homeless individuals with its CoC awards.
