MDHA is committed to serving Nashville residents effectively and responsibly in the area of affordable housing.
Since 2000, MDHA has assisted more than 5,300 Davidson County households through various HOME programs, ranging from new construction to home rehabilitation and downpayment assistance. In 2009 and 2010, MDHA was among the select agencies nationwide to be awarded Neighborhood Stabilization Program funding (through both NSP1 and NSP2) to help stabilize those communities that have been hardest hit by foreclosures and abandonment.
In addition to its ongoing efforts in affordable housing, MDHA has served as the catalyst to other unique and innovative projects that are increasing housing options for low- and moderate-income Nashvillians. Nance Place, a 109-unit apartment community in the Rolling Mill Hill area of downtown, opened in 2011 and provides affordable rental housing to Nashville’s workforce. Ryman Lofts, another affordable property at Rolling Mill Hill, opened in 2013 and provides affordable rental opportunities to Nashville’s creative community. Uptown Flats, a 72-unit development on Dickerson Road, opened in 2013 and provides affordable rental housing for Nashville’s workforce. 10th & Jefferson, a 54-unit affordable and workforce development at 941 Jefferson Street, opened in 2018.
