MDHA Open Saturday for Weatherization Applications | 2011-01-14
NASHVILLE - The Metropolitan Housing and Development Agency continues to accept applications for the Weatherization Assistance Program which provides free weatherization (or weatherproofing) assistance to qualifying individuals. In an effort to provide more opportunity for people to apply to the program, MDHA's main office will be open on Saturdays beginning January 15 through Saturday, January 29 from 9:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. People can also apply during normal business hours Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. at 701 South Sixth Street, Nashville, Tennessee 37206 to accept applications for the Weatherization Assistance Program.

The weatherization assistance program is available to renters (up to a 4-unit complex), as well as homeowners. In order to qualify families must meet certain income requirements:

The goal of the program is to help families protect their home from the elements, help reduce energy consumption, and optimize the home’s energy efficiency.
All applicants will be required to provide:
Verification of ALL income (Social Security, pension, pay stubs, unemployment, etc.)
“No Income Statement” for non-working adults 18 and older
Most recent NES bill
Most recent gas bill
