Homelessness Prevention

Congress recently has passed a nearly $800 billion economic stimulus bill that includes $1.5 billion for homelessness prevention and re-housing. Metropolitan Nashville-Davidson County will receive a portion of this funding.

The Homelessness Prevention and Rapid Re-Housing Program (HPRP) will provide financial assistance and services to prevent individuals and families from becoming homeless and help those who are experiencing homelessness to be quickly re-housed and stabilized.

At least 60 percent of funds must be spent within two years; all funds must be spent within three years.
